Technology Integration in Education

Basic level of technology Integration
Scenario 3.1.3.2.3.3
In this scenario, it shows that teaching using technology is more effective than not using technology. But they should be considered as indicating only a somewhat simple or basic level of integration. Why? Because the new technologies techniques do not involve a substantial change in the teaching and learning process but do not take on a pivotal role in instruction.
Scenario 3.4.3.5.3.6.3.7
In each of these instructional situations, technology has a very important role to play, providing both students and the teachers with crucial materials or activities. The teacher needs to use technology purposefully to provide support at key points during the lesson. Integration of technology supports more or less traditional models of teaching. That is teachers continue to teach in traditional ways, but incorporate technology to supplement these teaching methods. It just became the central instructional tool for the students. An example could be VLE, where the teacher used one way of teaching strategies. The teacher post questions and other information for the students.

Scenario 3.8.3.9.3.10

Here, technology has been used by the students to help them through a variety of important learning processes. The projects in each case are highly integrative, allowing the students to make links among a number of content areas, use various learning tools and develop thinking and creativity skills. In these situations, it would be difficult to imagine how a similar project could be conducted without the use of technology. Teachers used technology to promote students learning by challenging them with complex and authentic tasks, worked in a collaboration to support their inquiry and investigation process. Best example could be the google classroom that we are using these days. The students create their own class, whereby they throw questions related to their content. Every one gets chance to participate in the discussion.
By looking at all three scenarios, it made me think how important one has to have knowledge on ICT. If we integrate ICT in teaching and learning, there are many advantages for both students and teachers. With regard to teachers, it will reduce their workload whereby they can just upload the information in the VLE and all. And for students, if there is an integration of ICT in teaching, then they will be able to understand the difficult concept. So, I find ICT is must in this twenty-first century, because we know that teaching and learning is not happen only in the classroom. Teaching and learning take place everywhere. Being a future teacher we must be aware of using the different gadgets.
